What To Expect:

At Play Collective we believe that children learn best through free play. The children are able to play freely in an enriched environment with the emotional support they need when difficult interactions or situations arise. Each afternoon the children are presented with an invitation to play, which helps address age appropriate academic skills in a way that doesn't feel forced. Our preschool play curriculum was written by the owner and is available to purchase if families would like to also create invitations to play with their children at home.

Each day is broken up into chunks, and transitions between these blocks of time are also an opportunity for the children to work on other important skills, such as following multi step directions, self responsibility, and contributing to the functioning of the community. Many procedures are in place to help the children increase independence in a way that feels natural.

A Peek Into Our World

Meet the Owner

Rebecca Negron, M.S.Ed.

Hey Mama! I'm Becky. I'm a fellow parent, licensed special educator, and passionate believer in freedom in childhood. I attended Simmons University where I received a Master's degree in Special Education with a focus on Assistive Technology. I graduated at the top of my class, receiving their prestigious Mary Carlisle Holmes book award for excellence in the field of special education. (Beep beep!) I also hold a Bachelor's in Psychology with minors in Family Studies and American Sign Language from UNH, where I graduated with honors.

I left my job as a public school teacher after the birth of her daughter, when standardized education began to no longer resonate with me. Lessons in motherhood quickly taught me about the importance of play and autonomy in childhood, leading me down a path of self-discovery and entrepreneurship.

I am a certified children's yoga instructor and also got certified with Mindful Schools before opening a children's yoga studio in 2019. Through my work within the world of special education alongside my yoga practice, I gained a deep understanding of the importance of the relationship between my inner and outer worlds.

Play Collective Preschool opened in fall of 2021, when I transitioned away from teaching children's yoga to providing play-based childcare with a focus on the importance of child led learning. By way of my lifestyle, I encourage families to let go of unreasonable expectations of themselves and their children, and help them embrace the power of play while practicing self compassion.

It is my intention to help build a community where children can thrive and families feel supported, so together we can mold the next generation of leaders who can help create a better world.
